Meet Our Care Providers
Dr. James K. Bennett, MD, FACS
Dr. Bennett, CEO of Midtown Urology, is a world-renowned urologist who is on the frontlines of the crusade to eradicate prostate cancer. As a Georgia native, his enthusiasm for medicine began at Clark College in 1976 where he graduated summa cum laude. After receiving his medical degree from Duke University in 1979, Dr. Bennett completed an internship in surgery and a residency in urology at Emory University. His enthusiasm continues today through the establishment of a urology practice to provide quality healthcare.
Honored as the National Medical Association Practitioner of the Year in 1999 and recipient of the Nash-Carter award in 2014, Dr. Bennett is an activist in the treatment and education of prostate cancer. He was the first Georgia urologist to perform cryosurgical ablation of the prostate. Dr. Bennett has created multiple in-depth, educational films on prostate cancer and prostate cancer in Black men, partnering with such respected names as Dr. Louis Sullivan, Les Brown, and Sydney Poitier. His documentaries have been used nationwide by the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Bennett is a multiple-time award nominee and winner for his contributions and advancements in urology. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Black Health Magazine and received the Pinnacle Leadership Award from the Fortitude Educational and Cultural Development Center, Inc. Black Enterprise named Dr. Bennett as one of America’s leading African-American doctors in 2001 and again in 2008. In addition, he received the Buddy Childers Award from the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition in September 2001 for his outstanding efforts in the battle against prostate cancer. In March 2011, he received the Native Citizen Award from the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce. His other nominations and recognitions come from organizations such as the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association, Atlanta Magazine, and the Atlanta Tribune for his cutting-edge research and commitment to excellence.
He is the author of over 40 scientific medical articles on urologic topics and often conducts symposia in the medical field. Dr. Bennett’s research endeavors include clinical trials generated by the National Institutes of Health and pharmaceutical companies as well as “in-house” studies designed and managed by Midtown Urology’s Division of Medical Research. He is also the founder of two non-profits, the Community Health and Men’s Promotion Summit(CHAMPS) and the Midtown Urology Health and Education Foundation (MUHEF), that aims to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention concerning health issues for the community, especially in the area of urology.
Diplomat of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, Dr. Bennett holds several additional academic honors and ranks: he is clinically affiliated with Emory University, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse School of Medicine. At Emory University Hospital Midtown, he serves as Assistant Medical Director and Chief of Urology. Dr. Bennett formerly served on the Board of Trustees at Clark Atlanta University and served as Commissioner for the State of Georgia’s Commission on Men’s Health, appointed by former Governor Roy E. Barnes.
Dr. Jenelle E. Foote, MD, FACS
For 30 years, Dr. Foote has been a urologist and vice president of Midtown Urology, PC and Midtown Urology Surgical Center in Atlanta. A native Ohioan, she received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. She trained at Albert Einstein Medical Center as an intern and resident in general surgery, also in Philadelphia. She pivoted to pursue a career in urology, heading west to fulfill a residency in urology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She headed further west to Los Angeles to further her expertise in female urology, urinary incontinence and urologic reconstructive surgery as a fellow at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.
Dr. Foote is passionate about education and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine where she is the recipient of teaching awards in 1997 and 2021. She has received additional teaching awards from Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta Medical Center and Herzing University.
Camille Turner, NP-C
Camille S. Turner MS, NP-C, ACCNS has been in healthcare for over 26 years. She has strong academic training along with professional experience throughout the East Coast in hospitals and outpatient clinics. She is an expert critical care clinician with passion for cardiology and urology. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and obtained her undergraduate bachelor’s nursing degree from Coppin State College in Baltimore in 1995. She later obtained her master’s degree from Georgia State University in 2013 and is double certified as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist.
She has been with Midtown Urology since 2015. Camille works with Dr. Jenelle Foote & Dr. James Bennett to care for general urology as well as renal, bladder, and prostate cancer patients. She enjoys being a patient advocate and providing patient education. She welcomes partnering with patients to improve individual outcomes and goals.
Camille is a member of American Urological Association and other professional advanced practice associations. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and dancing. She is excited to meet new patients and get them on the path to improve wellness and urologic health.
John “Trey” Price, PA-C
Trey grew up in Charleston, SC and went on to obtain his undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Language & International Health (Concentration in Health Administration, emphasis in Spanish). He completed his master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the Georgia campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, GA. Trey is also a Qualified Medical Interpreter (Spanish). In his free time he enjoys Clemson sports, Spanish/Latino pop culture, and spending time with his wife, Brenna.
